The new Premier League season has only just begun, and already fans are talking more about controversies than goals.
First, VAR is back in the spotlight. In Chelsea’s match against Fulham, a goal from Fulham’s young striker was ruled out after a long VAR check. Moments later, Chelsea were awarded a penalty that many thought was too soft. Fulham manager Marco Silva was furious, and fans once again questioned whether VAR is helping or hurting the game.

Next came Sky Sports’ new idea – the “Ref-Cam.” The camera showed fans what the referee sees on the pitch. Instead of excitement, many viewers complained it made them dizzy and hard to follow. What was meant to improve the experience left fans feeling sick!
And then there’s the transfer drama. Newcastle striker Alexander Isak wants to join Liverpool and has even refused to play until the move goes through. Newcastle have already rejected a huge £110 million bid, but Liverpool may return with an even bigger offer.
From VAR arguments to transfer battles, the Premier League season is already proving that the drama off the pitch can be just as entertaining as the action on it.
